With a x inch footprint this sled hooks up well, but still corners more aggressively than many crossovers. If you had to escape an angry Sasquatch out in the woods, what crossover sled would you choose? That may sound like a strange question, but this was the start of an actual conversation I had with a friend after a long day of riding. I told my friend I would want something that would start quickly, be easy to maneuver both on trail and off, corner precisely, and most of all, be quick in any situation.

The Renegade and Ski-Doo in general has one of the best electric start systems on the market. The Renegade clipped it off in just It also had the second fastest top speed at mph. That is far superior to any other 2-stroke crossover and was even a hair better than the 4-stroke Yamaha Apex XTX this year.

Oil consumption also was much better than the other hybrids we tested. It has a wide 16xx1. It does NOT have the huge 1. Speaking of seats, this REV-XP seat has the perfect amount of grip material on it as well as the right amount of semi-stiff foam. Another small, but useful component is the easy to customize quick-clicker system on the primary clutch. These are easy to change by just loosening them and then moving to one of six settings.

One day on the trail we noticed our demo sled was revving over the recommended setting of rpm, so we stopped. Also they shifted the motor over 3mm to the clutch side for the in an effort to align the primary and secondary.

The seat has a small storage compartment in the rear. Smaller riser with a bigger bend in the bars. They got rid of the massive assembly for the hand warmers. I have a X etec sitting next to my X etec collecting garage dust waiting for the snow this year.

Oh and the piston update. Claimed HP is the same. You are totally wrong my friend. They shifted the secondary 3mm to the left with the use of a longer axle. If they had shifted the engine to the left BRP would have been out of belts already.

I am open to being wrong but I'm repeating what a Skidoo engineer told me at the snow show. The shifting of the motor 3mm were his words.

Differences between and Summit Like This Unlike Venema 16 Jan Just curious to see if anyone knows if there were any changes from the '11 to the ' I recently bought a Summit R etec as a left over thanks to you guys that contributed in my "Recommended Sleds for Alaska" thread. BRP doesn't have anything for the '11 sleds on there website anymore. I read that they made the track on the '12 a little lighter but that's it.

And yes, I did a search but but the search doesn't like the word "Vs" cuz it's not three characters or more in length. By the way here is an updated pic of my tunnel wrap. I also installed the Powermadd handguards with foam extensions and Ice Scratchers. Last week I ordered a white skidplate, dash bag, kinda new graphics just one decal for each sideand a Pelican Case so that should all be here this week.

Still trying to figure out what I am going to do about mounting options. I like the Mountain Addictions rail kit but I need to see if I can make a female side for the Pelican Case but I'm not sure where to get the materials yet. Attached Images. Like This Unlike Will S. Not sure about you already. Just playin with you. What is the pelican case for?

Some engine changes but I have not heard any complete answers on this. I think mostly just mapping. The 2. The X model in now comes with the tapered freeride style bars and the freeride controls. That's all I can think of right now.I have a ski doo renegade backcountry X etec. The only starting method is electric start, however its not working. Im pretty good with sleds, but im lost on this one. I just bought it and it needed a starter so i put one in it.

Had solenoid tested and it was good, also have a second solenoid that ive been trying. So heres the Deal:. When that red wire is unhooked and i put my test light on it and push the start button it shows power.

Any ideas? I also see that when i push the start button there are some redlights that light up on the computer just behind the oil tank. You are saying when the red wire is hooked up you have nothing,do you mean no power or no start. I would check for power on the red wire when hooked up and button pressed, you may have a bad connection somewhere in the harness or even at the fuse.

After several hours of diagnostics as per the shop manual, the solenoid was only getting 4 V and I couldn't find anything so I took it to the dealer. Took out the battery and found the ground wire mentioned above, connection was tight to the battery box.

I have the same problem with my Renegade backcountry X. I checked all the ground connections and they were good. I checked the voltage at the starter solenoid and found that I was only getting 3. I have the premium gauge package so the Left Hand housing switch includes the additional rocker switch for Mode and Select. There is a separate wiring harness that runs from the housing to the connections behind the gauges.

When I ohmed out this wiring harness with the micro switch the NO connection read 3. I confirmed that this was problem by jumping a wire between the White common and Red NO on the female connection behind the gauges and the sled started everytime. Now the problem is replacing the micro switch. The dealer does not sell this micro switch alone. After some online research I found a water proof micro switch at digikey.

The only issue is that the wire leads from the switch come out the side of the switch as opposed to out the bottom of the original switch. I have ordered the part and will see if that does the trick, but I am pretty confident that this will work.

Best thing I ever did to my Etec was install a recoil kit.Forums New posts Search forums. Media New media New comments Search media. Search Everywhere Threads This forum This thread. Search titles only. Search Advanced search…. Everywhere Threads This forum This thread. Search Advanced…. Log in.

If so was your computer reflashed? I just bought a etec with miles on it and found out about he recall and since the snow is pretty slim around here I had the recall done and the dealer said that the computer didn't have to be reflashed or updated. I am curious if anyone else has had this done yet. Feb 19, 2, hanging out in a tree well at the top. Yup, its for the ring locating pin. No haven't had mine done yet.

They won't do the piston, rings and pin until miles. I already tried to get them to doo it. BRP is pretty adamant about not doing it till miles. What dealer did your recall? Oh, hey, Ski-Doo is Number One today, too! The TNT can slam through a rough trail section with precision. Give the Ski-Doo engineering and marketing groups credit, they know how to create a sharp-looking sled and fit it with features that are popular with consumers. There are popular technologies from the second-generation REV ride-forward saddle position, which gives the rider great control in the rough, on long straights, and through wide open throttle sweepers.

Ski-Doo 2011 Sleds: MX Z

The TNT is a very versatile snowmobile. Add in nice-to-have standard features like the J-hook handlebar ends and protective midheight windshield that gives the rider everyday comfort.

Of course the big twin comes with standard electric start for added convenience, a plus for us. For you weight conscious riders, the overall poundage on this model comes in at a claimed pounds, which is a mere six pounds more than the E-TEC versions without standard key start. The suspensions may be evolved to reflect new spring or shock settings, but the E-TEC TNT follows current practice of HPG high pressure gas shocks on the dual A-arm front end and similar damping control for the SC-5 rear suspension.

These suspensions have evolved from snocross racing and been refined for the best overall trail set up.

2011 Ski-Doo MX Z X-RS 800R E-TEC

If you wanted a hard banging suspension, you should have ordered the racer-like X-RS version last Spring. Most everyday riders will find the TNT ride proficient. Measuring We find it incredible that this engine shares so much with the carbureted The feedback you get when pulling on those twin 40mm carburetors on the PowerTEK is totally different than what you get with the direct-injected E-TEC.

The new motor responds so much differently, too. The PowerTEK comes on hard.

The E-TEC is smooth and deceptively powerful. They tended to be more trailable, smoother and easier to drive in tight corners. They were either on the power or off it. That is no longer the case.

Kwikset 910 factory reset

Arctic Cat, Polaris and Ski-Doo have developed very drivable s that make these big bore sleds well suited for everyday riding.
